Rejuvenate, reshape and refresh.
Dermal Fillers are a very popular way to help reverse the ageing process. The dermal filler is a smooth injectable gel that is placed below the skin's surface. The dermal filler plays a major role in rejuvenating and reshaping the face, resulting in a smoother, more youthful, refreshed appearance.
What are Dermal Fillers?
This injectable gel closely resembles Collagen - a natural material occurring in your body - which is gradually lost as your skin ages. The loss results in a loss of volume in your facial features causing skin sag and wrinkles.
Dermal fillers have the unique ability to help replace the skin’s lost collagen, helping to reduce wrinkles and provide facial rejuvenation by attracting water to the area it was injected, causing your skin to fill out.
How do Dermal Fillers work?
Dermal fillers are available in three formulations to allow us to tailor treatment to your unique needs. The softer formula provides versatility in contouring and volumising facial wrinkles and folds. The firmer product is a more robust formulation for volumising and correcting deeper folds and wrinkles and the firmest product of the three allows for further volumising with the product lasting up to 2 years*.

Using fillers you can replace the natural loss of cheek volume that happens with age*. With your face, the key to enhancing your natural beauty and regaining a look of youthfulness, is symmetry and balance
The most common starting volume is 1.5 - 3mls and we recommend reviewing this result after 2 weeks, at which point we will discuss with you whether there is a need to top-up with a small amount to reach a point where you the patient are happy and satisfied.
As we age the skin on our chins start to sag, it loses volume and the chin itself starts to move backward. This has a flow on effect to our neck and jowls.
Fortunately, Dermal Fillers can address these problems, restoring beauty and youth to a person’s face*.
At Illuminate, the most common initial volume required is 1-3mls, though we recommend reviewing this after 2 weeks to ensure you are entirely happy with the results.
One of the first areas people notice ageing about themselves is their eyes.
Fortunately, Dermal Fillers will help to enhance your facial features, while reducing those dark circles and bags under the eyes*.
Typically, the dosage required is only 1ml injected every 2 weeks, over two or three treatments. After this, we recommend it is reviewed on a yearly basis.
Nasolabial Folds and Smile Lines
Dermal fillers can help relieve smile lines by restoring the lost volume and softening the appearance of these creases. By evening out the skin fillers will achieve you a smoother, more refreshed appearance*.
The best results are achieved when combined with treatment of the cheek area.
Running from the corner of the mouth downwards to the jawline, these lines often cause the face to look aged. Using dermal fillers is a simple and effective way to create a more youthful and attractive appearance. Typically, this area needs a higher dose of the dermal filler because of the relationship with the adjacent jowls. At Illuminate, we tend to use lower doses initial and reassess the patient in 4 weeks’ time.
As we age our jawline starts to lose structure, therefore to enhance beauty and remain youthful, we must replace the lost structure with dermal filler, improving the size of the jaw, along with the shape and symmetry. The dosage of filler required for the jawline is highly variable with dosage ranging anywhere from 1ml – 5mls.
Dermal fillers can visibly reduce the signs of ages in the hands by smoothing the skin, reducing any visible wrinkles, and increasing the volume lost by the aging process.
Lips and Nose
We can use dermal fillers in these two areas for lip enhancements and non-surgical rhinoplasty. These are discussed as separate treatments.
The look you want is waiting for you.
